Why is Amankila closing?

According to The Bali Observer, the Manggis resort plans to suspend operations while construction progresses on nine to 11 additional residences. The temporary closure is intended to avoid disturbing guests as building work intensifies.

The report also cites local officials who estimate that the suspension could reduce Karangasem’s regional revenue by Rp5–6 billion.

What to do if you have a booking

If your stay falls within the reported closure period, contact the resort and your travel agent or booking platform promptly. Ask whether your reservation is affected and request written confirmation of any alternative accommodation, date changes or refund arrangements before changing other travel plans.

Considering a stay around late January? Confirm the reopening schedule directly with Aman before booking. The reported end of the closure should not be treated as a guaranteed reopening date.
