Not too long after the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott I thought it would be ideal to take the family for a few nights to experience a hotel that was said to be family friendly in the Seminyak area.
That it was and from the moment our tribe of four arrived we were all taken care of. From the hustle and bustle of the hectic Seminyak streets we found ourselves in the hidden oasis of Courtyard by Marriott.
All checked in and with the kids straight to the pool us adults had a moment to relax on the balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool.from there we were able to see exactly what the kids were up to which was reassuring. The are teenagers so safety wasn’t an issue but more their behavior. We have all been teenagers before so need I say more?
There wasn’t any need to leave the resort for meals as we found the menu the the in-house Seminyak Kitchen to cater for all our family’s taste buds.Dinner’s were spent eating Chef Billy’s signature Bloody Mary Burger (a huge hit) and the buffet breakfasts, well I have had a few in my time and can definitely say it is up there with the best of them. Many buffet breakfast may have a wide selection of choices however I found that Seminyak’s kitchen catered for the health conscious also. Believe it or not the kids were more worried about this then me so if they give it the thumbs up then it was excellent.
Now as this was a family holiday the wonderful staff at Courtyard organised an afternoon for us at Waterbom Park. This was an absolute highlight for the kids. With hours spent zipping around every slide in the park possible. I may have had one or two goes on the slides but I felt a little more comfortable with my feet on the ground. It is worth the visit and not only will the kids love you for it but you will love the quiet time when the fall asleep early from exhaustion.
The resort really does have it all. We managed to fit in a Yoga session (and yes all together), an Aqua aerobics session and then a spa treatment at the hotels own ‘Zanti Retreat’. Not only was the spa treatment for us but the kids also had a chance to experience it as well. Yes, the children have been completely spoilt.
Even if you have young children they will still be spoilt. The kids club looks like so much fun even I wanted to go in there.
Topping this awesome visit off after we were all walking on a cloud nine from the spa was the most amazing BBQ dinner held on the gardens by the pool. There was wine, beer, prawns, meat and the chefs standing by to cater for all our needs. We were all in absolute heaven and really couldn’t ask for anything more. If the family was happy then I was happy!
The family will be back and we will bring more tribes.
