TripAdvisor has awarded Gili Trawangan as the most affordable island destination in the South East Asia region for the 2013 to 2014 period. The average estimated cost for one day of holidaying at Gili Trawangan was Rp 2.67 million, a stark contrast to Sentosa island in Singapore which is the highest on the list where holidaygoers expect to pay at least Rp. 9.5 million per day.
“Indonesia and Thailand remain the most affordable holiday spots in South East Asia with Gili Trawangan, Bali and Koh Samui in Thailand the top spots on the list,” said TripAdvisor spokesman Jean Ow-Yeong.
Bali came in second place with the average cost per day at Rp. 3.08 million. According to TripAdvisor the measure includes one night accommodation, dinner, beer, bicycle rental per day, one hour massage at a 4 star hotel and to rent a kayak for an hour.
