Where can you help those affected by the 2022 Northern NSW floods

It has been a tough 3 months of the New Year and our border community has been hit hard with the 2022 floods. If you’re looking to help out in the Northern NSW region, but don’t know where to go or what to do, have a look at the services we have provided below. From tip runs, monetary donations, to accommodation, food drop offs and lending a hand, we have provided a list of places for you to go.

This information is subject to helping people in Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, Chinderah, Mullumbimby, Pottsville, Murwillumbah, Uki, Tumbulgum, Tyalgum, Ocean Shores and the surrounding communities.

Monetary donations:

  • To donate to families in need check out their personal GoFundMe pages here.
  • Donate to the State Emergency Services (SES) helping out on the ground here.
  • Donate to Givit here, who provide relief to families who request specific help.
  • Donate to The Red Cross here, who are assisting flood-affected victims across the country.
  • Donate to The Salvation Army here, who are managing majority of the evacuation centres.
  • Donate to Vinnies here, who are providing food and clothes to flood affected victims.

Registering your help:

If you have a shovel, gumboots, gloves, gurney, hose, broom, fuel, wheelbarrow, disinfectant, cleaning products please bring with you when wishing to lend a hand.

You can register to volunteer your time and help clean up at the Chinderah Flood Recovery Centre:

  • 85 Phillip Street, Chinderah.
  • Open 8am to 5pm
  • Volunteer Hub Murwillumbah: M-Arts in Murwillumbah (don’t register, turn up at 9 am to help) check it out here.
